....because if they do, I need one!
So this is me, being completely honest. I watch a lot of Intervention on A&E, and I think I might smell one coming for me. My name is Kate, and I'm addicted to anything that has to deal with weddings.
No joke.
I decided the other night that I needed a new post, but couldn't think of quite the right idea or subject. So I decided, "hey, let's look the Knot, or watch some Whose Wedding is it Anyway?" to get me in the spirit of a new topic. But it turns out, I just instead spent countless hours reading, watching, and salivating over Bridesmaids dresses, MOH speeches, RINGS, real life wedding pictures and so forth. Then I realized that my whole evening was shot because I was in matrimony heaven. So, does this happen to all of us?
I really can't speak for all my brides, b/c I know almost the whole majority is in bridal mania currently. I can't have a discussion with one bride without somehow it getting related to wedding topics or suggestions. And yes, Tara I'm talking about you. But it turns out, I love it! I love talking about this kind of stuff. So here is my theory on why I enjoy it so much:
It's fluff. In a world today of violence, chaos and uncertainty, planning a wedding or discussing a wedding, is simply fun. But it's a good fluff. We all need a little happiness and silliness and the joy of planning something that is a celebration! I don't deal well with stress, personally. And lately I've been under some major stress (my job is bumping, I'm moving, and I'm the MOH for my best friends wedding coming up). I can't tell you how therapeutic it is sometimes to talk about flowers, and dj's and photographers. In the big picture of life, it's silly right?
So, the point of this all is, that I'm not crazy, I just enjoy a little fluff in my life:) So, long live the brides!!
